Junior WR Ryan Jenkins (5-11 170) of Alpharetta, GA has an offer from Clemson, his first.
"I went to a camp there back in June and I performed really well," Jenkins said. "Coach (Tony) Elliot called me the next week and told me they were really happy with the way I played. He handed the phone to coach (Jeff) Scott and he offered me."
Jenkins is not unfamiliar with the Tigers. "My brother is a sophomore defensive back there, Martin Jenkins," he said. "I've been going up there since I was in eighth grade when they started recruiting him so I've got a pretty good relationship with a lot of the coaches."
Jenkins also camped at USC, Georgia and Georgia Tech. "That was my first time in Columbia," he said. "The thing that stood out to me there was Steve Spurrier, Jr. He was my favorite wide receiver coach of all the ones I've met."
Other schools showing interest in Jenkins are Georgia Tech, Alabama, Auburn and Florida.
Clemson takes the early lead for Jenkins with their offer. "They're obviously my favorite right now but as I get more offers and take more visits, it could change," Jenkins said. He plans to attend several games in Death Valley this season.
