Wide receiver Chris Brown of Hanahan committed to Notre Dame last weekend while on his official visit. But his father said Thursday night an absolute decision on a college has not yet been made.
“I was shocked,” Joe Brown said of his son’s sudden pledge to the Irish. “I knew he would like it. He made be committed to Notre Dame, but to me a verbal commitment is like a hand shake.
"It’s always been our intention to take his scheduled visits. He’s not going to make his decision until he has the entire bowl of information. Our intention is for him to take his official visits. I’m not going to allow him to make his decision without seeing everything on his plate.”
Brown is scheduled to visit Virginia Tech on Oct. 8 when the Hokies face Miami. He plans to visit LSU sometime after the Virginia Tech trip.
No other visits are planned right now though Joe Brown wants to get feedback from USC.
“I haven’t talked to any South Carolina guys, but it’s my intention to see if he can use one of his official visits there,” he said.
Chris Brown suffered a broken collarbone in week two of the season. His father said he is progressing well and is expected to miss another three to four weeks.
