DL Carlos Watkins of Forest City, NC will make another visit to Clemson tomorrow for the Florida State game. This will be his third game this season at Death Valley. According to his coach Daniel Bailey, Watkins is focused on two schools but is still going to look at others. Watkins is going to announce a commitment October 14th.
“He’s narrowed it down to two schools, Florida and Clemson, but he wants to be sure,” Bailey said. “He will take some other visits after he commits. He’s looking at Alabama, Clemson and USC (for other official visits). He wants to give everybody the chance on game day.” Watkins has set an official visit with Florida for the Alabama game October 1st, and he has a visit set with Nebraska for the following weekend.
Florida coaches were at the school today. Clemson was in two weeks ago. And Bailey said Watkins has been talking with USC recruiter Shawn Elliott about setting up a visit with the Gamecocks.
Bailey said Clemson is out front at this point. “Location is one thing,” the coach said. “Being closer to home, the family can come in more often. But, he’s still considering the SEC.”

Watkins is averaging eight tackles and two sacks per game this season.
