DB Elijah Shumate of Ramsey, N.J., is in regular contact with USC and if he can work it out, he plans to take an official visit with the Gamecocks the weekend of October 9th.
“I talk to Coach [G.A.] Mangus a lot,” Shumate said. “I just want to go to a school where I fit and get the best of both worlds education wise and on the football field. And I want to make an immediate impact and play as a freshman and find where I feel most comfortable.”
Oklahoma, Michigan, Notre Dame and Georgia are other possible visits, according to Shumate. He said there is no leader and no order to his schools.
He will not make a decision until the Army All American game January 7th.
