Class of 2013 SG Matt Howard (6-4 180) of A.C. Flora received a visit from Clemson assistant coach Earl Grant Tuesday. The meeting went well and has Howard feeling good about the Tigers.
"I like my chances (of receiving an offer)," Howard said. "The visit went well. We talked about all kinds of stuff...not just basketball. I couldn't work out for him though." Howard is nursing a sore shoulder and has been instructed to rest it until Saturday. "It's been hard," he said. "I was just outside shooting jump shots with my left hand instead."
USC assistant Mike Boynton was scheduled to visit Wednesday but has rescheduled due to the injury. "I can't work out for him right now so there was really no point for him to come by," Howard said. "I'm sure I'll see him at the (USC-Auburn football) game." No date has been set for that visit.
He continues to favor Clemson, USC and VCU but says he has interest in Georgia, NC State and Florida State as well. "I really like all of the SEC and ACC schools along with VCU, Harvard and Georgia Southern," added Howard.
