ATH Kenny Orjioke (6-4 220) of Marietta, GA is new to football but has received several offers from across the country. His mother a medical doctor, the family recently moved to the Atlanta area from California but has lived around the world. Orjioke will graduate high school at 16-years-old and his parents place a lot of importance on his education.
"He's an exceptional student and his parents saw that early on," coach Jep Irwin said. "A lot of schools have talked to him about red-shirting and his parents are all for that. You don't see that a lot these days."
With offers from Arizona State, Duke, East Carolina, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, North Carolina, NC State, Purdue, San Diego State, SMU and Vanderbilt, Orjioke is also hearing from USC, Auburn and Stanford among others. He made an unofficial visit to USC last Saturday for the Vanderbilt game.
"His parents have visited Duke and if Stanford offers, I think he will take an official (visit) there," his coach said. Irwin noted that Orjioke will take an official visit to Arizona State this season.
Orjioke plays safety and tight end at his school and is being recruited as a safety, linebacker and defensive end. He does not have a favorite.
