DE Frank Herron (6-5 240) of Memphis has offers from Clemson, USC, Tennessee, Auburn, Arkansas, Vanderbilt, Purdue, Cincinnati, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, North Carolina , Kentucky, Arizona, Memphis and South Florida among others. He is hearing from LSU and Alabama.
Herron is familiar with USC and Clemson and plans to visit the two schools. "South Carolina runs the same defense we run at Central (High School)," Herron said. "They have two great defensive ends. I love the way they play and watch their film all of the time. I pattern my game after them." Herron was speaking of Melvin Ingram and Jadeveon Clowney.
As for Clemson he said, "My coach tells me it's an unbelievably beautiful campus. I talk to coach (Marion) Hobby all of the time and he tells me about their defense and how I would fit in."
Herron has visited Ole Miss, Vanderbilt and Alabama and plans to visit each school again. He will visit Tennessee this weekend and LSU March 27th. Basketball season currently occupies his time making travel difficult but he plans to make several trips in the future and is considering attending the spring game at USC.
Herron does not have any favorites. "I like everybody right now," he said.
As a junior, he complied 57 tackles, seven for loss, seven sacks, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and a fumble return for a touchdown.
