QB Corey Todd (6-4 225) of Naples, FL will make a visit to USC Tuesday to watch the Gamecocks practice. Todd's father, who is a USC graduate, said his son is with family in Greenwood Monday night and will be driving down to Columbia Tuesday.
"USC is his No. 1 choice if he were to get an offer to go there," his father said. "Coach Mangus has been in touch with him the whole time."
Todd plans to camp at USC this summer where he will get the chance to throw in front of Mangus and Steve Spurrier.
Other schools showing interest include Notre Dame, Duke, North Carolina, Nebraska, Miami, Wofford and Colgate. Notre Dame scouted him last spring and has invited him to its spring game later this month, which he will attend.
Todd quarterbacks in a spread option offense and is considererd a dual threat quarterback. Last season he had about 1200 yards passing and 1300 yards rushing.
