After failing to land DL Keith Bryant with the final scholarship available for this year's class, USC considered sending an LOI to DE Kendal Vickers of Havelock, NC, but decided to hold the scholarship.
However, USC did send non-binding paperwork to Vickers, which he signed.
Vickers committed to the Gamecocks in November. The Gamecocks took his pledge knowing he would have to enroll in a prep school this fall.
Vickers played primarily offensive tackle in high school but the Gamecocks see him growing and developing into a defensive end.
USC announced a signing class of 21. Three enrolled at mid-term.
