DL Da’Shawn Hand of Woodbridge, Va., will visit South Carolina on Saturday for a junior day, his coach confirmed Wednesday afternoon.
Coach Karibe Dede said they will arrive in Columbia late Friday night and check in at USC at 9:00 AM Saturday for the start of the activities.
“They have a day that’s planned out for all the recruits,” he said.
They plan to stay the night, eat lunch on Sunday in Columbia and then get back on the road.
USC is one of the current five favorites Hand has identified along with Michigan, Alabama, Florida and Virginia Tech. USC and Florida are the only two he hasn’t visited.
Recruiting services are touting Hand as the top player in the country for 2014.
Last season he had 110 tackles with 40 tackles for loss and 16 tackles.
