Not since the days of Raymond Felton Jr. on the hardwood have recruiters had the need to enter Latta into their GPS. But offensive lineman Donnell Stanley is drawing the college coaches back to the small Pee Dee town in Dillon County.
On Thursday Ohio State recruiter Everett Withers visited with Stanley at school, and North Carolina recruiter Vic Koenning took in his baseball practice. Clemson's offensive line coach Robbie Caldwell came in on Friday, and USC offensive line coach Shawn Elliott was on hand for Stanley's baseball game Saturday night.
Stanley went 1 for 3 with a double, three RBI and a stolen base in an 11-2 win over Whale Branch. Stanley has been concentrating on baseball in recent weeks and has put recruiting on the back burner.
He has visited USC and North Carolina this spring and he plans to get to Clemson this summer.
