Junior DL Albert Huggins of Orangeburg-Wilkinson made his first game day visit of the season last Saturday when he went up to Clemson for the Florida State game. He had been to Clemson before for games and campus but this visit was entirely different.
"I've never seen the atmosphere that hyped before," Huggins said. "That's one thing that really impressed me. I focused on the D-line mostly, Florida State and Clemson. I talked to coach Swinney and he was telling me, 'Albert, I respect you whatever decision you make.' That's basically what he was telling me."
Huggins plans to get to other games with USC, North Carolina and NC State three targets. He talked with USC recruiters Deke Adams and Everette Sands earlier this week. "They were asking me how my game went Friday, last Friday and what's coming up this Friday," Huggins said.
Huggins has not added any new offers to his list which is comprised of USC, Clemson, Florida State, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Louisville, Georgia, NC State, North Carolina, Auburn and SC State. He does not have favorites and doesn't have a timetable for a decision. "I really haven't sat down with my parents yet," he said.
Never miss a local story.
Though he has lived in South Carolina all of is life, Huggins said he grew up a Georgia fan. "I don't know, maybe it was the red," he said. "It really doesn't matter. At first it did but I changed my mind," adding that at one point he did favor Georgia.
Huggins has 8 sacks and 7 tackles for loss and has 4 forced fumbles in helping the Bruins to a 7-1 record.
