USC had some key targets in for visits Friday.
-- DB Jalen Thompson of Mobile, AL made an unofficial visit to USC Friday.
“I loved it,” Thompson said. “I loved the coaches. “The stadium was great and coach Spurrier’s talk was the best.”
The Gamecocks were in good shape with Thompson prior to his visit and they remain strong with him.
“They know they’re in my top group,” he said.
Kentucky, Georgia and Miami also have been favorites with him. Thompson plans to visit Kentucky next month.
-- RB Ty’Son Williams of Crestwood also visited USC on Friday with his mom.
They were on campus from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and got a tour of the facilities and the campus.
“I walked around mostly for my mom because I’ve already seen most of that stuff,” Williams said. “We got a real good detail look into the school. She liked it.”
Williams spent most of his time with recruiters Deke Adams and Everette Sands.
“We just talked about football and life in general,” he said. He also met with Steve Spurrier in his office before leaving. Williams plans to visit North Carolina Saturday.
-- DB Damon Arnette of Fort Lauderdale and OL Jalen Merrick of New Smyrna Beach, FL also visited USC Friday.
-- DE Darian Roseboro of Lincolnton, NC, plans to visit USC next week. He has the Gamecocks among this final 11 schools as well as Clemson.
-- 2016 OL Greg Little of Allen, TX, the son of former USC LB Derrick Little, committed to Texas A&M.
