Tevin Mack, a 6-foot-5 guard from Dreher, made his final official visit over the weekend to South Carolina. He's also been to Clemson, Georgia, VCU and Connecticut. Mack's mother joined him on the visit with the Gamecocks.
"It was nice," Paula Mack said. "We especially enjoyed the football game and talking with the coaches. Everything they said was legit. They talked about academics and the facilities. We also went to the scrimmage Friday night."
Now that visits are finished, Mack said her son wants some time to himself to think things through.
"He's taking a break for a day or two to think on it," she said. "I'm hoping for a decision this week. He's still trying to figure it out. I'll just be glad when it's over."
The fact USC is just a few miles down the road from their home in Hopkins is not a factor in the decision, according to Mack.
"The five schools he chose are right here on the East Coast," she said. "I'm fine with that."
