Coming Wednesday here at GoGamecocks.com - Live updates from P.J. Dozier's signing day event.
Frank Martin and South Carolina are about to find out if all of their efforts have paid off.
Two local Top-100 players, Spring Valley High School’s P.J. Dozier and Dreher’s Tevin Mack, will make their college decisions on the first two days of the early signing period. Dozier, a 6-foot-7 guard who is the No. 34 recruit in the country, and Mack, a 6-6 small forward who is ranked No. 77, have the Gamecocks among their finalists.
Dozier has scheduled a press conference for around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Spring Valley. Mack will sign at noon on Thursday.
Martin can’t talk about specific unsigned recruits but was asked on Monday if he felt good about the recruiting process that he and his staff have performed since arriving at USC.
“I’m in a very good place mentally right now because of the work our assistants have done,” Martin said. “I can tell you this – I’m extremely proud of the work our staff has done, recruiting locally and nationally. We’re dancing with the big boys right now in that world of recruiting.”
Dozier is choosing between USC, Louisville, North Carolina, Michigan and Georgetown. Mack is choosing between USC, Clemson, Georgia, Virginia Commonwealth and defending national champion Connecticut.
