DL DJ Jones of East Mississippi JC and Wren High School will announce where he is headed next on December 17th. He remains committed to Florida State ("It's not too solid and it's not too light) but he is still considering USC, Ole Miss, Auburn and Alabama. He made an official visit to Ole Miss last weekend and will go to Alabama December 12th. He's also taken official visits to USC, Auburn and Florida State.
USC recruiters Lorenzo Ward and Deke Adams met for about 20 minutes with Jones on Tuesday. "They were continuing to let me know that I've got a place at home and they'll be weak at defensive tackle."
As for the Ole Miss visit, Jones said it was outstanding. "I had the chance to sit down with coach Freeze and coach Kiffin," he said. "They have a real active defense and let their defensive lineman go in pass rushing situations and get to the quarterback. The Grove is awesome. People everywhere were yelling, 'we need you.' It's a great opportunity."
As he works on his decision, Jones said he's still committed to Florida State and has Alabama and Ole Miss second on his list. But he's not ruling out USC and Auburn. This weekend Jones and his team will play for their second straight JUCO national championship in Biloxi, MS and he expects USC's Adams to be in attendance.
