DB Jaire Alexander of Charlotte will test his long standing commitment to USC this weekend when he makes an official visit to Louisville. Alexander will be a mid-year enrollee and Louisville will be his only other official visit besides the one he took to USC in November.
"I'm still 100 percent Gamecock, that hasn't changed much," Alexander said. "I still have a strong feeling for them. I'm taking the visit because I just need something to compare. I don't think they can turn me unless they guarantee early, early playing time. Other than that, I don't think so."
USC recruiter Grady Brown was in to visit Alexander on Monday and his Louisville recruiter also was in this week. The Cardinals like Alexander as a receiver. USC originally recruited him for corner but he had a big offensive year and the Gamecocks apparently took notice of that.
Alexander had over 70 catches for over 1300 yards and 25 total touchdowns. He returned a punt, two kickoffs and an interception for touchdowns and caught 17 touchdown passes. He also had over 35 tackles and 4 interceptions.
"I wouldn't mind playing receiver actually, wherever I can get on the field earliest," he said. "Steve Spurrier Jr. wants me to play offense. They say they want to try me out at both."
