Defensive end Marquavius Lewis of Hutchinson Junior College (Kansas) said Tuesday he will follow through on his longstanding commitment to USC and sign with the Gamecocks Wednesday at 4 p.m. in a ceremony at Greenwood High School.
"That's what it's looking like, yes sir," Lewis said.
Auburn had also been hot on his trail but Lewis said he hasn't heard much from the Tigers since the end of last week. USC was in to see Lewis and his family Saturday and he's remained in touch with the Gamecocks.
Lewis is regarded nationally as the No. 1 defensive end prospect in junior college. This season he had 63 tackles with 20.5 tackles for loss, 11 sacks and 21 quarterback hurries.
He will have two years to play two at South Carolina.
