Defensive back Toure Boyd of Chaffey College in California was contacted by South Carolina recruiter Grady Brown on Tuesday, and indications are that he could receive his official offer from the Gamecocks on Wednesday.
Boyd said the word he got was that the university was in the final stages of accepting him as a student.
"I just had to send my current schedule and they're going to let me know in the morning," he said. "Everything is looking pretty good. I got accepted. He (Brown) just has to make sure all the classes I need are in progress and I am a full-time student this semester."
Asked if he would commit if he gets the offer Wednesday, Boyd replied, "Yeah, pretty much."
Boyd is scheduled to take an official visit to Georgia State this coming weekend. He is scheduled to visit USC on Jan. 23.
The other junior college defensive back USC has contacted recently, Treston Decoud of Northwest Mississippi, said Tuesday night he's not heard back from Brown about being accepted by the university.
