Highly sought after LB Tre Lamar of Roswell, GA visited Auburn Saturday, his latest stop at a school among his favorites. He has also been to Clemson and Alabama.
"I got to see just how good their engineering program was, which was really awesome," Lamar said. "And I had never had a conversation with Coach Muschamp before and it was good to talk to him about how he sees me in the defense."
Lamar said Muschamp sees him as a middle or Will linebacker which is fine by him since he plays Mike linebacker in high school.
"Auburn's facilities are definitely top notch and they compare with anybody's in the nation so that was definitely cool," Lamar said. 'They said they have a great engineering program, one of the best in the Southeast, which was awesome to hear. The kind of coaches they have rivals anybody elses so I feel like they are really up there in terms of facilities and education."
Lamar has a trip to Florida coming up March 21st. He said he's still hearing from USC "a little bit." He has not made plans to attend USC's junior day March 28th.
Lamar said he now has a top five of Clemson, Tennessee, Auburn, Alabama and Florida in no particular order. Auburn and Florida replace USC and Mississippi State in his previous top five.
Lamar said he plans to return to Clemson for another visit sometime this spring.
