Concord defensive lineman Rick Sandidge is down to South Carolina, Georgia and North Carolina with the Gamecocks and Bulldogs in the strongest position according to his coach. He is scheduled for an official visit to Georgia this weekend.
"I think South Carolina continues to do a great job recruiting him," said Concord coach Glenn Padgett. "He's very familiar with Coach (Bobby) Bentley and TRob (Travaris Robinson), and Coach Muschamp has done a great job of staying in touch with him."
Sandidge saw the Gamecocks play in person four times this season and the fact they won nine games, including a bowl game victory over Michigan, has them in a favorable light with him.
"They are a young team and he really likes what he sees with what they are doing on defense and where they are heading," Padgett said. "South Carolina continues to do a great job recruiting him. Of the three, South Carolina has been recruiting him the longest and has done an outstanding job with him."
Sandidge is scheduled for his official visit to North Carolina on Jan. 19 and USC on the 26th. He won't announce a decision until Signing Day.
