South Carolina handed out several offers in the state of Tennessee on Tuesday including one to defensive back Adonis Otey of Murfreesboro. He’s a former Tennessee commitment and also has offers from Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, Cincinnati and others.
“I love this offer cause it’s a chance to be coached by one of the best DB coaches in the game,” Otey said. “It’s an SEC team on the come up. They say they love my athleticism and how I play all over the field.”
Otey said he plans to visit USC this spring and right now does not have early favorites.
“To be honest, I’m looking at all of them right now,” he said. “With me, I’m just trying to find that best fit for me, so I’m pretty much open right now. I’m just looking at the overall environment, do they offer my major, the network, and I just want to play for some cool, down to earth coaches that will give me a fair shot to get on the field.”
This season Otey had 34 tackles with three pass deflections (”Whenever they threw my way, which was never”). He also had about 300 receiving yards, 100 rushing yards and scored nine touchdowns.
