WHAT TO WATCH FOR: A win today for USC would match the 1981-82 team for best start in school history with 10 straight wins. ... South Carolina next will take an exam break until Dec. 19, when No. 1 Stanford comes to visit. ... The Gamecocks have held seven of their nine opponents to fewer than 50 points. They are fifth in the country in scoring defense and 19th in field-goal percentage defense. ... Aleighsa Welch leads the SEC and is tied for eighth nationally with five double-doubles. She averages a double-double with 12.0 ppg and 10.2 rpg. She is the only player in the SEC averaging a double-double. ... Ashley Bruner has been the leading scorer or rebounder for USC seven times this season. She and Welch are tied as the top scorers on the team at 12.0 ppg. ...
