WHAT TO WATCH FOR: The Gamecocks and Tigers have split the six games played since Dawn Staley was named coach at USC. Auburn claimed the lone contest last season, a 53-49 decision, but South Carolina was won the past two in Columbia. ... Ieasia Walker is the current SEC Player of the Week after posting averages of 11.5 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals and 3.5 assists in two wins last week. The Gamecocks have been idle since winning at Arkansas last Sunday. ... South Carolina has won four in a row and six-of-seven after opening SEC play with a 20-point loss to Tennessee. ... USC has allowed more than 60 points in a game once this season. They are third in the country in scoring defense, allowing only 47.3 points per game. No team has reached its season average against the Gamecocks with only four teams coming within 10 points of their average. ... Aleighsa Welch and Ashly Bruner ranked 7th and 8th respectively in the SEC in rebounding. They are +10.1 in rebound margin per game, which ranks as best in the SEC... They will be at a huge size advantage against the Tigers but so far this season has posted better rebounding numbers. ... South Carolina is 11th in RPI, one of six SEC teams in the top 30. ...Auburn has lost five in a row.
