WHAT TO WATCH FOR: A victory would give the Gamecocks their second consecutive 20-win season and be the 20th in school history. It would be the fourth time they’ve reached the 20-win plateau since joining the SEC. It also would be Dawn Staley’s eighth season of reaching 20 wins in 13 years of coaching. ... USC has won six in a row and nine of the past 10 against Alabama. The Gamecocks have won on their past two trips to Tuscaloosa. ... Khadijah Sessions has come on over the past four games. She has become the top option off the bench and scored a career-high 19 points in the win against Auburn on Sunday. She has averaged 11.1 points per game over the past four contests. ... South Carolina has won five in a row and seven-of-eight after opening SEC play with a 20-point loss to Tennessee The Gamecocks never have had a six-game winning streak in the SEC. ... USC has allowed more than 60 points in a game once this season. They are third in the country in scoring defense, allowing 47.5 points per game. No team has reached its season average against the Gamecocks, with four teams coming within 10 points of their average. ... South Carolina is 10th in the latest RPI, one of six SEC teams in the top 30. ... The Gamecocks have been out-rebounded three games in a row and that has been a point of emphasis in practice this week. The Crimson Tide have been one of the worst rebounding teams in the league in SEC play.
