Monday won’t be the last meeting between South Carolina and Connecticut.

USC coach Dawn Staley and UConn coach Geno Auriemma said the teams have agreed to play at least two more years, with the Gamecocks playing at UConn next year and the Huskies returning to Columbia in two years.

Auriemma said he hopes the series continues after that. Staley said she’s pleased the series will continue.

“It helps you practice better,” she said.

Other known non-conference games for USC next season are at Ohio State, at UConn and at Texas for the Big 12/SEC Challenge with UCLA and Clemson coming to Columbia.

Staley hinted that more attractive games could be coming.

“Wait till you see our schedule next year,” she said.
