International stars Vijay Singh, Martin Kaymer, Brendon de Jonge, Marc Leishman, Hideki Matsuyama and Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano have committed to compete at the RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing at Harbour Town Golf Links.
Singh has 34 wins on the PGA Tour including the 2000 Masters. The Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. resident ranks third in PGA Tour career earnings, and has earned more than $67 million during his 3 decades of professional golf. Known as Fiji's only world-class golfer, he has already earned a second place finish at this season's Frys.com Open.
Kaymer turned pro in 2005, but just joined the PGA Tour in 2013. The 28-year-old German has won twice in the United States, including his first major at the 2010 PGA Championship and the 2011 WGC-SBC Champions, and has 11 international victories. He is competing in his second RBC Heritage.
de Jonge has competed at Harbour Town every year since 2009 and has never missed a cut. In 2013 he finished tied for ninth place. The Zimbabwe native played golf for Virginia Tech and now calls Charlotte, N.C. home. The 2013 Presidents Cup team member already has two top ten finishes in the 2014 season.
Leishman earned his first win on the PGA Tour at the 2012 Travelers Championship, after which he was named to the 2013 Presidents Cup team. As an amateur he spent summers playing in tournaments across the United States, including the 2004 Players Amateur, also conducted by the Heritage Classic Foundation.
In Matsuyama's first year as a professional, he quickly became one of the top players on the Japan Golf Tour. He has earned five international victories and was a member of the 2013 Presidents Cup team. The 22-year-old joined the PGA Tour this year and has already carded two top-five finishes. He will be making his first appearance at the RBC Heritage.
Fernandez-Castano has carded 7 wins on the European Tour since joining in 2005. In 2013, he competed in several events on the PGA Tour and earned enough money to be eligible for a special temporary membership. He was born in Spain but now lives in Key Biscayne, Fla.
The RBC Heritage takes place April 14-20.
