The Heritage Classic Foundation will honor 15 Beaufort County high school seniors with Scholar Awards at noon today at the Sonesta Resort Hilton Head Island in Shipyard Plantation.

Four-year college scholarships worth $18,000 to $22,000 will be awarded to the students, who attend Bluffton High School, Beaufort High School, Beaufort-Jasper Academy for Career Excellence, Battery Creek High School, The South Carolina Governor's School for Science and Mathematics, Hilton Head Island High School and Hilton Head Preparatory School.

Since the scholarship program began in 1993, the foundation has given a total of $3,279,600 to 252 students, including the this year's scholars.

The students will be introduced Monday during the opening-day ceremonies of the 45th annual RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing, which take place near the 18th green of the Harbour Town Golf Links.
