Hammond (4-3, 3-2 SCISA 3A) vs. Ben Lippen (2-4, 2-3)

Site: Edens Stadium.

Time: Friday, 7:30 p.m.

Game notes: Hammond trampled Porter-Gaud 41-28 behind a 325-yard rushing performance. T.J. Brady darted for 243 yards and a school-record five touchdowns on 30 carries and QB Nick Garrett chipped in 82 yards and one score on 21 totes. To date, Brady has 888 yards rushing and 14 TDs on the books. Center Calhoun McDougal and tackle Patrick Kneece had excellent blocking games up front. Linebacker D’Andre Lee-Smith was the defensive star with 11 tackles including six tackles for loss and two sacks ... Ben Lippen enters riding a two-game winning streak. The Falcons rallied to nip winless Pinewood Prep 21-14 last week. QB Robert Barrow was 15-for-28 passing for 275 yards and one touchdown. WR Wil Carter had his best game of the season with five catches for 143 yards and one TD. RB David Rhoden ran for 68 yards and one TD. Aaron Maguire was outstanding on both sides of the ball. He had five catches for 95 yards on offense and led the way on defense with a team-high seven tackles and one interception.

Series history: Hammond has won four in a row against the Falcons, nine of the last 10 and leads the series by a 15-4 margin.

Wilson Hall (6-0, 5-0 SCISA 3A) vs. Cardinal Newman (4-2, 3-2)

Site: Spencer Field.

Time: Friday, 7:30 p.m.

Game notes: Zakki Parker ran for 155 yards and two touchdowns in Cardinal Newman’s tight 24-21 win last week at Heathwood Hall. Parker has 716 yards on 122 carries to date and leads the team in scoring with seven touchdowns and 44 points. Evan DuBois is another key player with 207 yards rushing, 23 catches for 149 yards and four touchdowns, not to mention a team-high 48 tackles on defense Wilson Hall assumed sole possession of first place in SCISA 3A with a 27-20 win over previously undefeated Orangeburg Prep. RB Jay Goodson ran for 188 yards and one TD on 10 carries and had one scoring catch as well. QB William Kinney was 11-for-16 passing for 148 yards and one touchdown along 68 yards rushing. WR JD Croft grabbed six passes for 117 yards and one score.

Series history: Cardinal Newman halted a seven-game losing streak with a 39-37 win last season but the Barons still enjoy a commanding 18-6 series lead.

Heathwood Hall (1-5, 1-4 SCISA 3A) vs. Pinewood Prep (0-6, 0-5)

Site: Heathwood Hall Stadium.

Time: Friday, 7:30 p.m.

Game notes: Heathwood Hall dropped a tough 24-21 decision to Cardinal Newman last week. Edwin Propst and Nelson Weston had solid performances on offense. Propst ran for 99 yards and one touchdown on 19 carries, while Weston caught five passes for 95 yards and one TD. End Alex Curtin and linebacker Mac Ellen drew praise on defense. Curtin rang up eight tackles, one TFL, one sack and two PBUs. Ellen was credited with 10 tackles and one PBU Pinewood suffered its 15th consecutive loss last week to Ben Lippen, 21-14.

Series history: Heathwood Hall has won four of the six games in the series, including a 39-33 decision last year.
