Brookland-Cayce has fallen on hard times since making a run to the third round of the Class 3A state boys basketball state playoffs in 2008.
Over the past five seasons, the Bearcats have lost on the first round three times and failed to make the cut altogether twice. With four starters returning, B-C has designs on making significant improvement on last season 6-15 showing.
Kyle Stinson, a returning all-region selection, is the team leader. The senior guard averaged 15 points a game had had a 39-point outing along the way.
Sophomore guard Kozie Brown (6.0 ppg), junior forward DaJon Amaker (7.0 ppg) and senior forward Bernard McCall (8.0 ppg) are also part of the veteran foundation. Sophomore forward Kenny Simmons is a young player to watch.
