Lower Richland and Keenan scored first-round wins Thursday at the 12th annual Chick-fil-A Classic at Richland Northeast.
Brandon Stroman and Jared Richardson led Lower Richland (4-0) to a 51-41 win over host Richland Northeast (1-6). Stroman and Richardson shared game scoring honors with 13 points apiece. Stroman was also credited with nine rebounds and one blocked shot. Richardson also contributed three assists and three steals. Brien Washington led RN with eight points and eight rebounds.
Keenan improved to 4-2 with a 64-50 win over Spring Valley. The Raiders broke open a close game with a 14-4 run that began with three seconds left in the first half and carried over after the break.
Sam Harmon (17 points, 6 rebounds), Marcus Stroman (13 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocks), Javontae Davis (14 points, 10 rebounds) and Chris Bernard (12 points) led the way for Keenan.

Ja’lon Williams (13 points) and Jordan Bruner (8 points, 6 rebounds, 6 blocks) had gopod games for Spring Valley, which fell to 2-5.
All four Midlands teams return to action on Saturday. Keenan plays at 8:30 p.m., Lower Richland at 5:25 p.m., Spring Valley at 6 p.m. and Richland NE at 2:30 p.m.
