Dreher falls in CresCom Bank semifinals

Dreher suffered its first loss of the season Friday in the CresCom Bank Holiday Invitational at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.
The Blue Devils (7-1) dropped a 57-44 decision to Edgewater (FL) in the semifinals, and will take on Orangeburg-Wilkinson in the tournament third-place final on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. It is a game matching the two top-ranked teams in South Carolina Class 3A girls basketball.
Dreher led briefly in the first half, but Edgewater regained the lead for good with 2:48 to go in the first half.
Kaydra Duckett, Jhileiya Dunlap and Makayla Johnson accounted for the bulk of the Blue Devils’s production. Duckett scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Dunlap had a double double with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Johnson scored seven points, hauled in eight rebounds and blocked two shots.
