Heathwood Hall beats 4A Greenwood

Heathwood Hall rallied in the second half to defeat Greenwood 61-54 Friday in the consolation round of the CresCom Bank Holiday Invitational behind the brilliant play of senior A’ja Wilson.
The verdict allows the Highlanders (6-1) to play for a fifth-place finish in the blue-chip girls basketball tournament today at 10:45 a.m. against St. Joseph Central (WV) at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.
Wilson buried the Class 4A Eagles with 41 points, 20 rebounds, four steals and five blocked shots. The top-rated senior player in the nation has piled up 111 points and 62 rebounds in three tournament games. The smooth 6-foot-4 forward hit 14 of 28 shots from the field and went 12-for-16 at the free-throw line.
Chelsea Joseph was Wilson’s primary source of support with eight points and 11 rebounds.
