Redhawks, Cards meet in Rock Hill

Westwood and Cardinals Newman will have a first-time basketball meeting on Monday in the final round of the Lindberg Moody Holiday Classic at Northwestern High in Rock Hill.
Both teams stand at 2-1 in the tournament and are coming off third-round losses on Saturday.
Second-year Westwood (8-1) suffered its first setback of the season against Charlotte United Christian Academy. Defending SCISA Class 3A champion Cardinal Newman (6-6) took a 59-48 loss to Northwestern.
The vastly improved Redhawks are a deep, balanced scoring team featuring seniors Antonio Wright and Gerald Vaughn Jr. and sophomore Jordan Watson.
Cardinal Newman is led by seniors Charles Smith (18.1 ppg, 6.7 rpg), John Ragin (9.3, 2.7 apg) and Joe Armstrong (8.9, 6.7 rpg).
