Irmo and Lower Richland play for the York Classic girls basketball tournament championship Tuesday at 2:45 p.m.

For LR it’s a chance to avenge its only loss of the season. Irmo (10-0) nipped the Diamond Hornets, 52-49, in the semifinal round of the preseason A.C. Flora tip off tournament in November. Since then, LR (7-1) has rolled up six wins in a row, including first-round YC wins against J.L. Mann and Palmetto on Monday.

Irmo advanced to the title game with wins over Woodmont and Byrnes.

Ke’Asia Jackson (13.3 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 3.8 spg), Taziya Moody (11.0 ppg, 2.5 spg), Shakira Carter (8.9 ppg, 6.6 rpg) and Olivia Jabber (4.3 ppg, 6.9 rpg) set the tone for the undefeated Yellow Jackets.

Senior Breshay Johnson (15.3 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 4.7 spg), sophomore Dejah Williford (12.7 ppg) and freshmen Cailah Hicklin (6.8 ppg) and Kameron Roach (6.0 ppg, 2.8 apg, 2.5 spg) are the key LR performers.
