Pelion’s Freeman named S.C. coach for Shrine Bowl

Pelion coach Ben Freeman has been named the South Carolina head coach for the 78th annual Shrine Bowl Game.

The all-star football game, which features top prep players from South Carolina against North Carolina, will be Dec. 20 at Gibbs Stadium at Wofford College in Spartanburg.

His staff will include Chapin coach Justin Gentry and Hartsville coach Jeff Calabrese. River Bluff’s Stacey Baynham will be the trainer for the Sandlappers.
