Pelion continued its winning ways in Region 3-2A baseball on Tuesday, scoring a key 5-2 win at North Central. The Panthers ran the table last spring, going 10-0 on the way to the pennant.
Pelion (4-4, 2-0) opened the game with two runs in the top of the first inning and plated two unearned runs in the fourth to put it away.
Zach Hawkins, who had three hits, led off the game with a single and he eventually scored on a ingle by Dominick Holderness. Pinch runner Bryson Bolin scored the second run when James Golden drew a bases loaded walk.
Hawkins and Andrew Kneece scored on the same NC error in the fourth.
Tylert Poole was the winning pitcher with relief help from Hawkins. Poole allowed one unearned run and four hits in his five-inning stint. He fanned nine and walked two. Hawkins worked the last two winnings.
