Dutch Fork played long ball in a 6-0 Region 5-4A softball win at White Knoll on Wednesday.
The Silver Foxes (7-1 overall, 3-0 in the region) blasted three home runs in the game, beginning with a solo shot by Meghan Murphy in the top of the second inning. As is turned out, that run was all ace Hayley Elkins would need to win in the circle. But the DF attack produced more much more.
Elkins herself broke it open with a three-run blast in the scoring, scoring Sarah Hofferthand Madi Brown ahead of her.
Bay Eleazer took over from there – ripping a solo homer in the fifth and driving in another run on a ground out in the seventh.
Dutch Fork plays at Lexington tonight, will play in a tournament hosted by Byrnes over the weekend and has a big region home game on March 25 against North Augusta.
White Knoll fell to 2-7, 1-2.
