Two-time defending Class 3A baseball state champion A.C. Flora is ranked No. 2 in Collegiate Baseball’s national poll that was released on Monday.
Harvard-Westlake of Studio City CA is the top-ranked team. There are three Texas teams in the top 10, including 18-1 Southlake Carroll in the third spot behind the Falcons.
Andy Hallett’s club improved to 10-0 on the season, 5-0 in Region 4-3A with an 8-3 win on Wednesday against cross-town rival Dreher at Falcon Field.
Flora trailed the Blue Devils 3-1 entering the bottom of the third inning but took the lead for good on a three-run home run by Austin Beskid. Everett Eynon and Donald Gillespie had two hits apiece for the Falcons. Eynon also drove in two runs.
Wills Chapman, one of four Flora pitchers employed, was the winner in relief.
