A.C. Flora at Chapin

No. 10 Chapin (6-5, 3-2) takes on No. 5 A.C. Flora (7-3-1, 5-1) in a Region 4-3A matchup that will give one team an advantage in the region race.

The Eagles snapped a three-loss streak with a 4-1 win over Dreher and have a match against Westwood (1-8) Thursday night. Chapin could take the momentum of back-to-back wins into this matchup but will need a staunch to defense to win against A.C. Flora.

The Falcons have outscored opponents 21-8 and are on a four-win streak.

Girls soccer

Hammond at Dreher

The third-ranked Dreher Blue Devils suffered their first loss (3-2 against Chapin in overtime) this week and are looking to come back strong. Ashley Stone and Kailey Addison are among the Blue Devils’ offensive leaders, but Dreher is a scoring machine, having posted 61 goals in 11 games.

Hammond, No. 5 in SCISA 3A, is 3-2 after a three-win streak and has outscored opponents 21-1 in that stretch. The Skyhawks’ offense will be tested by a Blue Devil defense that has allowed four goals this season and posted nine shutouts.

A.C. Flora at Lexington

Two of the state’s best squads clash in this matchup, which is billed as the Wildcats’ military appreciation game.

The host Wildcats, ranked third in Class 4A, are 8-4 and led by pitcher Cordes Baker, who has posted three wins, and junior outfielder Trey Watts, who has batted in 12 runs. Senior lead-off hitter Ryan Brown is batting .350 and has five RBIs and five stolen bases.

Defending Class 3A champion Flora, ranked tops in its league, remains undefeated. The Falcons average six runs per outing and have not given up more than four in a single game.
