Pelion makes it official in Region 3-2A

The Panthers secure baseball and softball pennants for the second year in a row with doubleheader sweeps of Keenan.

Pelion completed a sweep of Rewgion 3-2A baseball and softball honors on Tuesday.

The Panthers baseball squad completed their second straight 10-0 run through the conference with a doubleheader sweep of Keenan. Tyler Poole had nine strikeouts in four inning of work on the hill in a 9-0 win in the opener. Dalton Smith went 2-for-2 with four RBI in a 12-0 win in the nightcap.

Pelion (14-5) has two non-region dates left before opening the Class 2A state playoffs at home on May 1.

The Pelion softball team wrapped up its second straight 3-2A title with a doubleheader win over Keenan. The sweep, along with Monday’s Fairfield Central upset of North Central, allowed the Panthers to avoid a tiebreaker game with NC for the region top playoff seed.

Like their baseball counterparts, Pelion opens the state playoffs at home on May 1.
