Fairfield Central is the only Midlands team left standing in the Class 2A state baseball playoffs.

The Griffins travel to Pageland tonight to take on the Central Eagles for the District 4 championship and a spot in the Upper State championship series. FC, which fell to Central 4-3 in the second round, will need two wins over the host Eagles to advance to the Elite Eight phase of the playoffs for the first time in school history.

Fairfield Central earned a second chance by eliminating Chesterfield, 12-2, on Monday.

There are no Midlands teams still active in 2A softball.
