Dutch Fork ranked No. 1 in preseason poll

Defending Class 4A state champion Dutch Fork starts the football season as the No. 1 ranked team in the preseason S.C. Prep Media Football Poll.

Coach Tom Knotts’ team opens its season on Friday night against Greenwood in the “Battle at the Bluff” event at River Bluff High stadium.

Other Midlands teams starting the season in the TOP 10 include Batesburg-Leesville (4th), Fairfield Central (5th) and Newberry (6th) in Class 2A.
