Eligibility investigation postpones Bamberg-Ehrhardt’s game
The Class A Division I football championship game between Bamberg-Ehrhardt and Christ Church has been postponed because of an official protest by two South Carolina High School League member schools questioning the eligibility of a Bamberg-Ehrhardt High varsity player.
The game was scheduled for noon on Friday at Benedict College.
“We must fully investigate all protests of this nature to determine the validity of the claim and to ensure a fair and just decision on who will rightfully play the opposing team, Christ Church Episcopal High School,” SCHSL commissioner Jerome Singleton said. “The teams involved, as well as the fans, will be allotted proper advance notice of the new game date and time.”
