Irmo enjoyed a solid overall performance on Saturday at the Coaches Classic Invitational cross country meet. The Yellow Jackets girls team placed 12th in the International Division, while the boys finished 13th.
Both Irmo teams were ranked 10th in the Class 4A coaches polls released three days before the largest meet of the season convened on the state championship course at Sandhills Research Park.
Senior Raheem Hodges was the top individual Irmo runner of the day, finishing 11th with a time of 20 minutes, 27 seconds. Junior Aaron Sirko led the Jackets boys, clocking in at 17:35 and placing 28th.
Freshman Savannah Radenbaugh (39th, 21:42), sophomore Kaitlen Brown (50th, 22:16), freshman Claire Kennedy (81st, 23:44) and eighth-grader Janay Chisholm (92nd, 24:23) accounted for the rest of the Irmo girls scoring. The Yellow Jackets closed with 168 points, one behind Eastside in the final tabulations.
Freshman Andrew Jordan (42nd, 17:47), junior Andy Roof (56th, 18:13), senior Danny Holden (73rd, 18:43) and junior Jack Lewis (78th, 18:46) rounded out the Irmo boys scoring lineup.
