A.C. Flora’s boys basketball team closed out a tough first month of the 2008-09 season with a 98-94 win over Region 4-3A rival Chester at the Taco Bell tournament. The Falcons bring a 3-10 record into the 2009 phase of the campaign, which begins on Tuesday night at Blythewood.
“We hope to turn things around during region play,” said ACF coach Austin Coleman. “We have some very hard working and selfless players on this team.”
Senior swingman Kvahn Pennix and junior forward Marquise Samuel are both averaging 10 points a game. Pennix has been outstanding at the free-throw line, converting 19 of his 20 chances.
The Falcons open the region season on Friday at home against tough Lower Richland.
