Chapin’s Joey DeMare stayed very hot in Wednesday’s 3-1 win over Southside Christian in the first round of the Palmetto Cup.
DeMare, a junior midfielder who led Chapin in scoring last season with 19 goals and 46 points, took care of all the scoring for the Class 3A eight-ranked Eagles, who improved to 5-4 on the season. It was the second consecutive hat trick for DeMare, who upped his season goal total to 12. All of his goals have been scored over the last five matches.
The Eagles have won four in a row after getting though the tough early portion of their schedule.
