The Dreher boys soccer team played its best at the end of the 2009, which was not surprising given the inexperience level of the club at the start of the season. In the end, the Blue Devils finished with a 5-13 record, and scored a first-round upset of Region 8-3A champion Bluffton in the first round of the state playoffs.
“We had a tough start with several very close outcomes, but finished strong,” said coach Paul Coleman. “We had Many first time starters this year; several starters were not even on varsity last year. I’m very excited about next season.”
Byron Quinatoa and Preston Mousseau were Dreher’s selections on the Region 5-3A all-star team.
Quinatoa, keeper Joel Porter (GK), Robert Switzer and Tanner Dalton are Dreher’s departing senior starters.
The core of the 2010 team will feature returning starters Mousseau, Leif Kayes, Daniel Thunell, Collin Glass, Cam Caldwell, Connor Sprinkle and Justin Parker.
