Spring Valley’s girls soccer team had a good showing in 2009, producing a 16-6 overall record and sharing the Region 4-4A championship with Ridge View after winning nine of 10 conference matches.
Amy Kolowsky, Janna Komorowski, Kristi Newton, Danielle Shaw and Kelsey Sawyer were named to the all-region team and Vikings coach Stephen Lea was cited as the region coach of the year.
Molly Davis ended up as the team’s leading scorer (10 goals, 1 assist – 21 points), followed by Shaw (7-5 – 19), Komorowski (7-2 – 16), Sarah Guess (6-0 – 12) and Kelsey Sawyer (5-1 – 11).
Kolowsky was outstanding in the nets for the Vikings, posting 9.75 shutouts and a 1.00 GAA.
