Flora (18-7) and Dreher (38-21) out of the gate. It’s the fourth straight year Kemper Amick’s squad has opened with three straight wins … Quarterback Kevin Davis had a big game last week vs. Dreher – running for 62 yards and one touchdown on six carries, while going 9-for-13 for 187 and two scores in the passing game … The offensive line graded out well. Interior men Joel Moore (5-10, 257) and Jamal Dowling (6-2, 251) earned 96% and 92% scores, respectively, and tight end Tyseese Coaxum earned a 94% mark. Moore had four knockdown blocks … The defensive standout was linebacker Jordan Jacobs, who had 12 tackles, 11 of which were either solos or first hits.
Mid-Carolina notes: The Rebels fell to 1-1 after suffered a disappointing 21-14 loss to Midland Valley last week ... MV had a 14-0 lead at halftime, but M-C rallied to even things up on second-half scores by Quin Cureton and Krishawn Holley. The 3A Mustangs went back ahead with less than two minutes to play, but the Rebels were far from through. In fact, M-C had two late scores negated by infractions. One touchdown was negated by a penalty, another was disallowed because a receiver’s foot came down over the end line.
Series history: Columbia took a 3-2 lead in the series thanks to last season’s 22-12 success.
